Riley, an orphan boy living in Victorian London, has achieved his dream of becoming a renowned magician, the Great Savano. He owes much of his success to Chevie, a seventeen-year-old FBI agent who traveled from the future in a time pod and helped him defeat his murderous master, Albert Garrick. But it is difficult for Riley to enjoy his new life, for he has always believed that Garrick will someday, somehow, return to seek vengeance.
Chevie has assured Riley that Garrick was sucked into a temporal wormhole, never to emerge. The full nature of the wormhole has never been understood, however, and just as a human body will reject an unsuitable transplant, the wormhole eventually spat him out. By the time Garrick makes it back to Victorian London, he has been planning his revenge on Riley for centuries. But even the best-laid plans can go awry, and when the three are tossed once more into the wormhole, they end up in a highly paranoid Puritan village where everything is turned upside down. - Oh the twists and turn this book took! Some where way out there and some made sense. Why did Chevie save her dad but not her mother? How did she eliminate the cat eyes, when she couldn't before? Why did she not die if she lived past 100 but became young again into the past? Ok, you get the point...its a good series but it takes a while to like the characters...lot more darkness than Artemis Fowl but I wouldn't mind a few more books in this series!
- Colfer's amazing, as usual. Just when you're wondering "how will they get out of this mess?" they find a way. And it's hardly ever what you expect, though sometimes it is something laughable or funny. Good stuff. Unnecessary, but welcome sequel.
- I was smiling for a long time after I finished this book. Thank you Mr. Colfer! Don't want be a spoiler but if you're an Eoin Colfer fan read this book.
- Engaging read for my advanced 5th grade readers.
- This is an easy read. Maybe good for teenagers who like sci-fi.
- Unexpected and not predictable. Good throughout. Star wars by eoin colfer...but no space ships...and with a shakespearian twist.I enjoyed it.
- Great ending to a great series. I was entertaines. I was horrified, sacred and I laughed and laughed.
Must read - I enjoyed the series
