The only thing more fun than reading this series is guessing who’ll play the characters in the inevitable TV adaptation. - I usually love Iris Johansen books but I was so disappointed in this one. I have read all her books usually devouring them in 1-2 days. This one just dragged on and I dreaded picking it up. Had none of the expected plot twists. This just read like a poorly written romance novel.
- I liked the premise but thought there was too much silly "cat and mouse" between Lunch and Kendra. It quickly got tedious and diminished both “supposedly†strong characters. I skipped the last one-third of the book when I learned from reading another review that the book is a cliff-hanger.
- I usually read Iris's books in 3 nights, tops. This was so boring, so poorly written and thinly developed that it took me 7 weeks to push through it. My son kept asking me why I didn't just give up on it. Now I'm wondering the same thing.

- I’m always a fan of a Kendra book! I’m so happy that things finally worked in her favor and the guard is going down. This one had so much going on and yet it was still so good and easy to follow. Some of the writing was a bit amateur in my opinion or else it would have been a five star rating. Other than that I have always enjoyed this series and look forward to the next one!
- Another excellent book by these two prolific writers. I love seeing Kendra become more assertive in her relationships. Especially with Lynch. The characters are well rounded and the plots very interesting. I tried to take my time reading this book to lengthen my pleasure but still read it in two days. When is the next book expected?
- Highly recommend. I have read probably 95% of all the books Iris Johansen has written and have loved every one of them. Characters are well developed in each story and the not overpowering romantic interludes interesting between the main characters.
